My name is Charlie Miller and I am the founder and a therapist for Rivers Mental Health. I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in 2014 from Hamline University with a major in Psychology. In 2019, I graduated with my Masters of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota with a focus on Counseling and Psychological Services. I am also licensed in Minnesota as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a board approve supervisor for the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. Aside from my passion for my work, I enjoy spending time with family, humor, being outdoors, movies, music, sports, and watching Vikings football (depending on the game).
My primary specializations are in trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, male-related issues, and family connection. The integrated therapeutic approach I use pulls from multiple theoretical orientations: including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), solution-focused, psychodynamic, existential, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
